An AI receptionist for pool service companies

AERIOX sets up an AI receptionist for pool service companies that answers every call while you're on your route, day and night, in English or Spanish. It asks about the pool and the problem, checks the address against your service area, and books cleanups, repair visits and first visits for new customers into your Google Calendar. You get an email after every call. Plans start at $99 a month.

Why pool calls get missed

A pool tech's day is a route: stop after stop, wet hands, a loud equipment pad, and a phone left in the truck. The calls that matter come in while you're elbow-deep in a skimmer. A homeowner back from a trip to a green pool. A pump that won't prime the day before a party. A new homeowner calling around for weekly service.

Demand also bunches up. Summer heat and afternoon storms turn water fast, a storm leaves screen enclosures and pools full of debris, and new customers shop for service when the weather warms up. In a CallRail survey of 1,000 US consumers (2025), 82% said they'd try a competitor after an unanswered call, and only 42% leave a voicemail. A CallRail benchmark cited by Plumber magazine puts the share of calls home-service businesses miss at about 14%.

What it does on a pool service call

  1. Answers in your company's name and opens with "This call may be recorded."
  2. Asks what you'd ask: is the water green or cloudy, is the pump running, any error on the heater, is it a pool, a spa or both, and what's the address.
  3. Checks the service area you set before it offers a time. A caller outside it gets a message taken for you instead of a booking.
  4. Books the visit into your Google Calendar: a green-pool cleanup, a repair or equipment check, a storm cleanup, or a first visit for a new weekly customer. Only the visit types, lengths and hours you set, after checking the time is still open.
  5. Takes a message when the caller wants you or the job is outside what it books, such as a resurfacing or remodel question, and marks it urgent when the caller says it can't wait.
  6. Emails you the booking or message in full. Every call is also listed in your portal.

Weekly route customers are yours to place. It answers questions about weekly service from what you tell it, such as which days you run which neighborhoods and what a visit includes, books the first visit if you want it to, and emails you the details so you can add them to your route.

It quotes only the prices you give it, such as your weekly rate for a typical residential pool. It never guesses at a repair, a pump or a green-to-clean price; anything else becomes a note for you.

A sample call from a new customer

AIThanks for calling Tidewater Pool Care. This call may be recorded. How can I help?

CallerMy pool went green while we were away. Can someone come before Saturday?

AIWe can help with that. What's the address, so I can check that we cover it?

Caller230 Cypress Court.

AIYou're in our area. I have a green-pool cleanup open Thursday at 10 AM or Friday at 2 PM. Which works better?

CallerThursday. How much is it? And do you do weekly service?

AIThe technician prices a cleanup once they see the pool, and I'll pass along your question about weekly service. What's your name and best number?

CallerTom Becker, (561) 555-0164.

AIYou're booked, Tom: Thursday at 10 AM at 230 Cypress Court. Anything else?

Tidewater Pool Care is a fictional business. The owner gets an email with the booking and the note about weekly service, and the visit is on their Google Calendar.

Where it stops

  • It doesn't troubleshoot equipment or give chemical advice. It gathers what your tech needs to know.
  • It doesn't connect callers to you live; it takes a message for a call back. It doesn't text anyone.
  • It takes up to 2 calls at once, up to 10 minutes each. A third caller hears a short message asking them to call back.
  • It tells callers it's an AI whenever they ask, and never pretends to be you.

What it costs for a pool route

Voice plans are priced by how busy your phone is, not per seat. Every plan answers 24/7, books and emails you every call, and includes setup. The first month is paid upfront; after that it's month to month.

PlanPer monthMinutesCalendars
Starter$993001
Solo$1997501
Crew (most popular)$2991,200Up to 3
Company$4992,500Up to 10

An owner-operator running one route usually fits Starter or Solo. A company with a repair tech and a few route trucks fits Crew: up to 3 calendars, so it can book by tech or by truck. See all plans or what an AI receptionist costs.

Questions owners ask

Can an AI receptionist book pool service appointments?
Yes. The AERIOX voice agent checks your Google Calendar and books cleanups, repair visits and first visits inside the hours, visit types and service area you set. It never confirms a time it hasn't re-checked and saved.
Can it sign up a new weekly pool customer?
It answers their questions from what you've told it, books a first visit if you set that up, and emails you their details. You add them to your route.
What happens when a customer calls about a pump that won't run?
It asks what the equipment is doing, gets the address and number, and books a repair visit if you have one open. If the caller says it can't wait, it emails you a message marked urgent.
Will it quote my weekly pool service price?
Only the prices you give it, such as your weekly rate for a typical pool. It never guesses at a repair or cleanup price; anything else becomes a note for you.
Do I need a new phone number for my pool business?
No. You keep your number and forward calls to your agent when you're on your route, after hours, or all the time. One code turns forwarding off.
