An AI receptionist for roofing companies

AERIOX sets up an AI receptionist for roofing companies that answers every call, day and night, in English or Spanish. Why roofing calls get missed

Roofing work happens up on the roof, where you can't hear a phone. Your estimator is on a ladder measuring. Your office line rings out at 5 PM. And the calls that matter most come in bunches: the morning after a storm, half the street calls about missing shingles and a stain on the ceiling.

In Florida, storm season runs June through November, and every named storm brings a wave of calls. Homeowners call several roofers and book with whoever answers. In a CallRail survey of 1,000 US consumers (2025), 82% said they'd try a competitor after an unanswered call. And answered calls pay: Invoca's 2026 home services benchmarks found 38% of answered calls are leads, and 45% of those leads convert on the call.

What the AI receptionist does on a roofing call

  1. Answers in your company's name, on the first ring, and opens with "This call may be recorded."
  2. Sorts the call the way your office would: is water coming inside right now, is it storm damage, a repair, or a full replacement, is it shingle, tile, metal or flat, is it a house or a commercial building, what's the address.
  3. Books the right appointment into your Google Calendar: a roof inspection, a repair visit, a replacement estimate. Only the appointment types, lengths, hours and service area you set, and only after checking the time is still open.
  4. Takes a message for anything you'd rather handle yourself, like an insurance question it doesn't have an answer for, and marks it urgent when the caller has an active leak or says it can't wait.
  5. Emails you the booking or message in full, minutes after the call. Every call is also listed in your portal at app.aeriox.co.

It answers questions from your own information, like whether you work with insurance claims or which roof types you install. It quotes only the prices you give it, such as an inspection fee, and never estimates a roof. Anything else becomes a note for you.

A sample morning-after-a-storm call

AIThanks for calling Seagrape Roofing. This call may be recorded. How can I help?

CallerWe lost a bunch of shingles in last night's storm. Can someone look at it?

AII can help with that. Is any water coming inside the house right now?

CallerNo, it's dry inside. The shingles are all over the yard.

AIGood. I have a roof inspection open Thursday at 9 AM or 1 PM. Which works?

CallerOne o'clock. Linda Chen, 2210 Coral Ridge Drive, (561) 555-0182.

AIYou're booked, Linda: Thursday at 1 PM at 2210 Coral Ridge Drive. Anything else?

Seagrape Roofing is a fictional business. The owner gets an email with the booking, and it's on their Google Calendar. Had water been coming in, the agent would have taken a message marked urgent.

Storm weeks, and where it stops

A storm can put a month of calls into three days. Here's how the agent handles that:

  • It takes up to 2 calls at once. A caller past that hears a short message asking them to call back, and AERIOX usually emails you that number.
  • Minutes count only while it's on a call. Past your plan's minutes, calls draw on prepaid credit at 49¢ a minute. If credit runs out, the agent pauses new calls until you add more or the next period starts. Turn on auto-reload in your portal before the season so it doesn't pause.
  • Changing your hours or prices is an email. Need to pull back booking hours while you catch up? Email us.

And the limits, plainly:

  • It doesn't assess damage or give insurance advice. It gathers what your crew needs to know.
  • It doesn't connect callers to you live, and it doesn't text anyone. A caller who wants you gets a message taken for a call back.
  • It tells callers it's an AI whenever they ask, and never pretends to be you.

What it costs for a roofing company

Voice plans are priced by how busy your phone is, not per seat. Every plan answers 24/7, books and emails you every call, and includes setup. The first month is paid upfront; after that it's month to month.

PlanPer monthMinutesCalendars
Starter$993001
Solo$1997501
Crew (most popular)$2991,200Up to 3
Company$4992,500Up to 10

A roofer with a couple of estimators usually fits Crew: up to 3 calendars, so it books each estimator's inspections on their own calendar. A larger office with more estimators fits Company, with up to 10 calendars. See all plans or what an AI receptionist costs.

Questions owners ask

Can an AI receptionist book roof inspections?
Yes. The AERIOX voice agent checks your Google Calendar and books roof inspections, repair visits and replacement estimates inside the hours, appointment types and service area you set. It never confirms a time it hasn't re-checked and saved.
What happens when someone calls with a roof leaking during a storm?
It takes the caller's name, number, address and where the water is coming in, and emails it to you marked urgent so you can call back. It doesn't dispatch a crew or connect the caller to you live.
Can it handle all the calls after a hurricane?
It answers up to 2 calls at once, and a caller past that hears a short message asking them to call back. Past your plan's minutes, calls draw on prepaid credit at 49¢ a minute, so turn on auto-reload before storm season.
Will it give homeowners a price for a new roof?
No. It quotes only the prices you give it, such as an inspection fee, and never estimates a roof. A caller who wants a number gets booked for an estimate or a message for you.
Does it work if I don't have a website?
Yes. It answers your phone line, so it works with the website you already have, or none at all.
